Provider Relief Fund July Update

The CARES Act Provider Relief Fund (PRF) has provided billions of dollars to help long term care providers survive the pandemic.  Following three rounds of distributions from the fund there remains a balance of roughly $24 Billion.  During recent negotiations in the US Senate the PRF there was serious discussion of using the balance to help fund a massive infrastructure bill.  Across the nation our associations and providers encouraged Senators to maintain the fund in order to help providers survive.  The infrastructure bill must still go through the US House of Representative, so there is no guarantee that the PRF will remain intact.  We will continue to work with American Health Care at the national level to ensure that the remainder of the PRF is distributed to providers.
