Regional HR Business Partner

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Working with the Corp. HR Director, you will serve as a trusted and collaborative advisor providing proactive, tactical and strategic HR support to 10 communities with 1,000 employees in Frontline’s Mountain and Plains regions located in CO, KS and SD. You will also align business goals and formulate partnerships across the region to deliver value-added services that reflect the business objectives of the organization.
You must have well-rounded working knowledge of multiple Human Resources disciplines including Recruiting, Compensation Practices, Organizational Development, Diversity, Performance Management, Worker’s Comp, Benefits, Training, and federal and state Employment Laws, etc. in the healthcare or long-term care industry. You must also have the ability to make sound decisions and function independently with very little direction.

This position requires frequent overnight travel to KS, SD and CO.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Establishes and maintains effective partnerships within the communities. Provides HR guidance and support through ongoing communication and regular community visits.
Helps facilitate the implementation of systems, programs, tools and processes designed to improve management and employee performance, productivity, engagement and business results.
Provides consultation and recommendations to communities on HR best practices and legal compliance.
Conducts a Human Resources audit of all communities to assure compliance with applicable laws, company policies, practices and to maintain a healthy and fair work environment for employees.
Leverages shared services partnerships to address and provide guidance on various community issues.
Conducts HR in-service training on employment best practices and legal compliance (ADA, FLSA, FMLA, investigations, etc.).
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. Escalates to Corp. HR Director as appropriate.
Develops an adequate personnel record filing system at the communities that complies with federal and state requirements.
Ensures that all communities are in compliance with current applicable federal and state employment regulations regarding wages, overtime, work hours, workman’s/unemployment compensation, etc.
Administers the annual Open Enrollment process and provides education and training throughout the communities.
Participates in and represents communities in unemployment hearings, as necessary.
Monitors Worker Compensation claims and coordinates work between employees, third party consultants and the insurance carrier.
Conducts online exit interviews and analyzes turnover trends. Reports finding to Corp. HR Director.
Assists communities with the interpretation of Employee Satisfaction Survey results and the implementation and follow-through of an Action Plan.
Additional duties as necessary or as assigned by Corp. HR Director or member of Management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent work experience required.
5+ years of progressive HR experience required.
3+ years of experience with benefits administration required.
SHRM- CP/SHRM- SCP or PHR/SPHR, preferred.
Solid comprehensive and independent understanding of all facets of HR.
Experience with complex employee relations issues required.
Ability to problem solve and make sound independent decisions with little direction from others.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated dependability and punctuality.
This position requires 50%-60% in state and out of state travel.
