Located at Mount St. Francis Nursing Center, the Director of Nursing oversees the nursing program to maintain the highest standards of resident care. Advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing services. Responsible for the overall operation of nursing services within the facility.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

People: Supervises the entire Nursing Department, interviews, hires, and terminates personnel, ensures nursing care is at optimal standard, ensures all personnel are involved in providing care and care plans, and performs nursing staff evaluations.

Quality: Reviews and revises nursing policies, coordinates care with other departments, works as a liaison with physicians, and promotes working relationships with community agencies and with other departments.

Operational Excellence: Must maintain Colorado RN License, be knowledgeable of Federal and State regulations, and ensure compliance of regulations for long term care. The DON will develop and revise Nursing Department philosophy, design staffing patterns to provide maximum nursing care, and manage and assist in preparation of departmental budget.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; valid RN license, at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week. May work evenings, nights, and holidays as needed.

Starting Pay Range: $80,000 to $100,000 annually, based on relevant qualifications and experience.
