The DON assumes responsibility and accountability for clinical outcomes of the facility, overseeing nursing practices of the RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. The DON is accountable for data, practices, policies and procedures reviewed during QAPI, staff education, and annual CMS and VA surveys in collaboration with IDT and NHA. The Director of Nursing supervises the Assistant Director of Nursing, Infection Preventionist and Nurse Managers, while reporting directly to the Nursing Home Administrator.

Fitzsimons provides long term care, short term rehab and has a secured memory care neighborhood and is conveniently located on the medical campus with UC Hospital and the Aurora VA Medical Center. We are looking for an experienced Nurse Leader who is passionate about caring for our veterans and who wants to enjoy the benefits of state employment.
