New requirement: Inform Employees of Tax Credits

HB23-1006 goes into effect August 8th, 2023.

Employers are required to provide written notice to all employees of availability of Tax Credits – annually and upon hire.

• State Earned Income tax credit
• Federal Earned Income tax credit
• Federal Child tax credit
• State Child tax credit

Notice may be provided electronically (email, text), and it must be provided in English and any other language usually used to communicate with the employee.

Keep record of the notifications you distribute.
