Monovalent COVID Vaccines Discontinued

The monovalent Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines are no longer authorized for use in the United States.

The FDA amended the Emergency Use Authorizations (EUAs) for Moderna and Pfizer BIVALENT mRNA vaccines on 4/18/2023.
• Authorizes BIVALENT Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines to be used for all doses administered to individuals 6 months of age and older.
• Authorizes an additional authorized bivalent dose (booster) for certain populations.
