Nursing Care Facilities. NCFs provide regular medical, nursing, social, and rehabilitative
services in addition to room and board for people not capable of independent living.
NCFs may participate in the Medicaid program. Facilities which participate in either
Medicare or Medicaid must meet the National Fire Protection Association Life Safety
Code and federal regulations for long-term care facilities. All facilities must
meet state licensure requirements.
