Information Resources. CHCA acts as a clearinghouse for information
concerning the long-term care profession. The Association staff works to keep apprised
of the latest events, policies and precedents set by the Department of Health Care
Policy & Financing, the Department of Public Health & Environment, the Board of
Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators and other agencies. This information is
shared with the membership through the bi-weekly E-Communicator newsletter, legislative
updates, timely email communications, web updates and position papers.
Public Relations.
CHCA works to educate the public on the various aspects of long-term care. Past
efforts have included the development of an image campaign and implementation of
a long term care profession recruitment initiative. In addition to on-going activities
throughout the year, CHCA also promotes National Nursing Home Week through the use
of public service announcements, newspaper articles and communication in the e-Communicator
newsletter.
